Up the Kötschachtal, on the forest edge

Follow the Kötschachtaler Straße out of Bad Gastein and keep going as the houses thin out. A few minutes up the side-valley, the yellow facade with its geranium balconies appears on the forest edge: stone wall in front, a clear mountain stream running past the house, peak behind. That is us.

Four hiking trails start at the door, and in winter the ski bus stop is a short walk away; the road above leads on to the edge of the Hohe Tauern National Park.
